oUR MISSION IS TO PROMOTE ACCEPTANCE, UNITY, COMPASSION, EQUALITY, AND THE MESSAGE THAT “LOVE IS LOVE” THROUGH THE POWER OF MUSIC and the arts.
Our story
The Love is Love Project is an LGBTQ+ rights musical movement project and producing company, and it is our mission is to promote acceptance, unity, compassion, equality, and the message that "Love is Love", through the power of music and the arts. Our LGBTQ+ advocacy is major part of who we are and has allowed us to travel and perform songs at several LGBTQ+ centers, rallies, universities, schools, etc. that promote our message, while also getting to know people and bring communities together. The music is written by LGBTQ+ singer-songwriter Gio and produced by Mariano DiGabriele. We have performed for PFLAG at Penn, FUSE, Drexel’s University’s GSA, the Rally for LGBT Equality in Pennsylvania, Trans Philly March, and Philly OutFest.
As a production company, we have been produced several virtual cabarets including large scale productions for individuals and companies who support our message. We are proud to not only bring quality productions to our clients, but provide opportunities to members of the arts community. Opportunities that allow artists from performers to videographers to share their creativity while promoting messages in accordance with our mission that we truly believe will make a difference in the lives of all who come in contact with our work. COVID-19 has truly brought on challenges for the arts industry, and we here at The Love is Love Project believe in creating and funding projects to help support all members of the arts community while carrying out our mission. With so many artists out of work and struggling to make ends meet, we understand the importance and responsibility we have to create the jobs and work that our industry so desperately need especially at this time.
In our work, we also focus on the power of media by creating various visual projects to further carry out our mission. Our video-editor Courtney Carr is an essential member of our team in this area of focus. LGBTQ+ music and media has not always been recognized or acknowledged, but we are up for the challenge. We hope we can promote our songs and video projects enough to ultimately propel the gay rights movement globally and change the hearts and minds of many people around the world. Music is important and effective, especially in political movements. Martin Luther King Jr. once said that music and songs were the “soul” of the civil rights movement. Inspired by this, we hope to provide the “soul” for the gay rights movement with our songs.
The LGBTQ+ community has had some great success over the years, but we still have a lot of work to do, especially worldwide! We want our voice to have an impact on the journey towards equality. Margaret Mead, famous anthropologist and writer, once said “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful citizens can change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” We hope that our songs, video projects, performances, and all the work that we do will inspire you enough to help us spread our message of love and equality. We are always seeking innovative people to help support us in any way, and we always love to partner with other LGBTQ+ or human rights organizations.
The Love is Love Project is here to show the world that as a part of the LGBTQ+ community, we refuse to be silent and will make our voices heard until we achieve true equality for ALL. We hope to inspire others to never let the world dictate who you are and instead, celebrate being you. We must love who we are because whether gay, straight, trans or cis, non-binary, or any identity, we are all beautiful. Each of us deserves the right to equality. Who we choose to love, doesn’t matter because love knows no color, age, religion, or gender. “Love is Love.” Thank you.
